World Bank drags feet in probe of activist's murder

Today the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists published a hard-hitting story regarding a case in Guatemala:

This is an important case in the context of the review of the IFC’s accountability. Though the Compliance Advisor Ombudsman – the IFC’s accountability mechanism – finished their investigation into the financial intermediary-backed Santa Cruz hydro project over a year ago, the Bank has still not released the report.

BIC Europe has been coordinating with NGOs in relevant countries to pressure World Bank Executive Directors, plus Norfund and Finnfund which also invest alongside the IFC, to ensure the IFC is held accountable for the harms the communities continue to suffer to this day.
